Vision
At Tjokker World it is important for us to create a loving environment where we really care about each and every child. This environment allows for the children of our Centre to feel competent and thrive with self-confidence. The positive interactions between our staff and your child foster academic support, recognition of individual talents and gifts and respect for one another and our differences, assuring a perfect start in to their school career. Preschool marks the beginning of your child’s educational journey. At Tjokker World we offer a positive learning environment where our children can develop a love for learning. This environment offers varied, stimulating and enjoyable educational experiences.
Owner & Principal
A word from the principal’s office
After about 30 years as owner of Tjokker World, I reminisce about reasons why I bought a creche – and in spite of various challenges I still have a huge passion for early childhood development.
In my parent’s home, we were taught – KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, and the child/ parent or person that had the most knowledge and wisdom, automatically became a leader in their field – regardless of whether it was academics, sports or arts and culture.
I am a bookworm, (books make you clever… and when I feel the pages between my fingers, I am rich beyond measure) and one day, just after my twins were born – I stumbled upon a book ‘How to raise a brighter child’.
After that, I got into contact with SmartBrain. SmartBrain was developed by the late doctor Glen Doman in the USA. It opened a whole new world for me. How to develop the incredible potential locked in a child’s brain – and believe me, every child is born with huge potential.
Dr Doman did tests on mentally disabled children, who eventually became genii. I want to make such a difference in a child’s life every day – and I do it every day, but it will remain on my bucket list for years to come.
The knowledge and wisdom of a country’s people, determine the emotional, economic and psychological well-being of the country.
At Tjokker World it is my prayer to, with a group of well-trained and motivated leaders – send children into the adult world, knowing that they have the world at their feet.

What We Offer
Curiculum
Tjokker World Preschool is an authorised Day-by-day user in 2021
SmartBrain Programme
Smartbrain is a cognitive stimulation programme whereby neurons (brain cells) are exposed to basic facts over a longer period and through increased repetition.
Classes
Baby Class
In this calm and safe environment, we promote gross motor development and achievement of milestones. We experiment with solid food and motivate emotional and social skills through play and baby massage.
Fish Class
The next step in development, potty-training, is approached with patience and motivation. We start giving attention to scribbling, crumpling of paper and awareness of shapes, colours and “my body”.
Wild Animal Class
This 2-3 years class teaches toddlers how to work with art media. They take part in active physical development and fine motor activities.
The 3-4 years old learn about routines and start to do more formal work. We learn by playing games and express our creativity on paper, in fantasy play and outside on the playground.
Grade R: Rainbow Class
Last year of preschool! We prepare for primary school and in this class children are equipped with enough skills, knowledge and emotional stability to hop through Grade 1 with a smile.
Fun Activities
Toddler sports day:
Fun for the whole family. On this day we challenge everyone to join in the fun, sports and activities – socialize and get to know one another.
Grandparents day:
We spoil the grandparents in the kid's lives by inviting them for a cup of tea, snacks and a show presented by our toddlers.
Educational incursions and excursions:
Learning in and excursions are planned per term. It is always a lot of fun!
Spring day picnic and block walk:
On spring day we celebrate the heat after the cold with a walk around the block in which the school is situated. After the walk, we enjoy a picnic.
School concert:
Our annual concert is always a hit with young and old.
Christmas party:
We celebrate Christmas with our kids and parents while closing off the school year on a high!
